  • SURYA NAMASKAR MAHYAGYA 2019-20
  • Most energetic and enthusiastic students from classes VII & VIII of Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh, participated in the Surya Namaskar Mahayagya held on 13th January’ 2020. The Govt. of India’s initiative in collaboration with Krida Bharti Aligarh, the magnanimous Surya Namaskar Mahayagya was held at Maharani Ahilya Bai Holker Stadium, Aligarh. We are proud to share that altogether eleven thousand students from different schools and organizations of Aligarh, unanimously bowed and offered prayers to the Sun– the source of life on the planet and performed Surya Namaskar.

    The Presence of the Chief Guest of this event, State Home guard Minister, Ex – Indian Cricket Player and National President of Krida Bharti, Mr. Chetan Chauhan and environmentalist Dr. Harish Rautela enhanced the worth of the magnum opus activity, in manifolds.

    The Principal Ms. Rajani Singh praised this activity organized for the students and briefed them about the healing powers of the Sun and the health benefits of sun salutation.

  • ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION 2019-20
  • During ‘Fitness Week Celebration’ Delhi Public School Civil Lines, Aligarh organized an Essay Writing Competition 2019 on 29th November 2019 for the students of classes 9th and 11th on the topic ‘FIT INDIA SCHOOL’. All the students from above mentioned classes participated for the same interestingly and zealously.

    The objective of this activity was to bring about a behavioral change in school children from spending Passive Screen Time to Active Field Time. The essay was judged on the basis of the student’s vocabulary, presentation and creativity. The purpose of the competition was to encourage the students to enhance their thinking and writing skills. The essays were well written by the students.

  • GARDENING ACTIVITY 2019-20
  • A gardening activity was organized under the “Fitness Week Celebration” at DPS Civil Lines Aligarh for the students of class 5th,6th & 7th to create awareness and spread message of saving our planet.

    Students brought different types of flowering plants and planted them in school campus. The teachers explained about the trees and the importance of tree plantation in contributing to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, conserving water, preserving soil, supporting wild life and providing shelter, medicine. The school gardener taught the students how to plant saplings, and waterthe plants.

  • ROPE SKIPPING AND MARTIAL ART 2019-20
  • This activity was held on 28th November 2019 at Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh for classes VII and VIII. The purpose of this activity was to improve neuro muscular coordination and explosive leg strength among the students. It works as a recreational activity.

  • MENTAL FITNESS ACTIVITY – DEBATE 2019-20
  • To mark the Mental Fitness Day and to spread awareness about mental health among youngsters, a debate competition was organized.

    The students actively participated this debate competition. The topic for the participants of the debate competition was ‘MENTAL FITNESS. The students confidently presented themselves before the audience and the judges.

    They wonderfully spoke on the topic and each student presented different views about mental satisfaction. It was really interesting to watch the young generation deciding what life satisfaction is at a very early stage of their life.

    It was an effective and impactful discussion wherein the youngsters understood about mental fitness.

  • YOGA, AEROBICS AND FREE HAND EXERCISE 2019-20
  • Yoga, aerobics, free hand exercises and Taekwondo were conducted. The students were explained about the techniques of yoga posture and exercises. They were also instructed about the appropriate way of doing each Yoga Asana, Pranayama and each exercise and their advantages.

  • SPORTS QUIZ 2019-20
  • A Sports Quiz Competition was held for the sports enthusiasts of classes VII and VIII at DPS Civil Lines Aligarh. The first round was a warm up session which was based on general questions on sports and sportsmen/women.

    The second round was based on sports i.e. badminton and basket ball.The third round was exclusively based on cricket as India is regarded as a cricket crazy country.

    There was immense craze about the game and people often idolize their favourite cricket stars.

    Round four was all about the common wealth and the Asian games.

    Principal of the school Mrs. Rajani Singh asked the participants to be more thorough with sports as it is an integral intrinsic aspect of personality development.
