  • FAREWELL CEREMONY 2023 - 24
  • The student farewell event, held at Delhi Public School Civil Lines, Aligarh, marked a poignant and memorable occasion as we bid farewell to the outgoing class XII students of session 2023-24. The event brought together students, teachers and other staff members to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the departing students.

    Filled with curiosity and zeal, the farewell ceremony was organised by the students and teachers of Class XI on Feb 10, 2024 in the school assembly area. The students and staff of DPSCL Aligarh bade farewell to the outgoing students of class XII. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments.

    The ceremony commenced with morning prayer to God. The students enthusiastically participated in various cultural activities. The principal, Ms. Rajani Singh, presided over the goodbye celebration. She gave a touching speech reminiscing the teacher’s contributions and impact on students and she wished the outgoing students all the best for their upcoming future

    The music group presented a heart touching melodious song. This programme showcased multiple talents of class XI students who presented entertaining group dance and song. In their collaborative group performance, the teachers demonstrated exceptional musical skill and a remarkable sense of unity. A token of love and appreciation was given to the students of class XII during the memento distribution ceremony.

    On this momentous occasion, the prestigious award of Mr. & Ms. DPS CL Aligarh was bestowed on Vishal Verma and Kanak Varshney respectively. Moreover the coveted title of Mr. And Ms. Farewell was bagged by Garvit Chaudhary and Aatashi Verma respectively. Thus, an environment of zeal and enthusiasm was experienced and it was a memorable event to one and all. Finally the event came to an end with a nice arrangement of feast for everyone present there.

  • REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION 2023 - 24
  • “Our nation is the greatest in the world, but let us strive to make it even better”

    The Republic Day celebrations kindle the feeling of patriotism and brotherhood which fills our hearts with national pride. Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh witnessed the celebration of the 75 th Republic Day on the 26 th January 2024. All the Staff and Faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered in the assembly ground. The celebration started at sharp 10:30 a.m with the hoisting of the National Flag by the honourable Principal of the school, Ms. Rajani Singh. It was followed by singing National Anthem in unison and saluting the National Flag. On the glory of this auspicious day, the Principal, Ms. Rajni Singh, delivered a mesmerizing speech in which she highlighted the importance of the constitution and its unique features such as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic enshrined in the preamble of the constitution. She also wished and congratulated a very Happy Republic Day to all the gathered people.

    The teachers enthusiastically participated in a variety of programs like anchoring, song, dance and speech. Ms. Rashmi Vashistha conducted the programme. The celebration was enriched with a beautiful rendition of a few patriotic songs, presented by department and a graceful dance performance that amazed the audience and awakened the spirit of patriotism in them.

    The program ended with the distribution of sweets. Overall the program was successful in bringing out the essence of Republic Day and spirit of patriotism.

  • WINTER CARNIVAL CELEBRATION 2023 - 24
  • The Annual Winter Carnival of school was celebrated with a lot of fun and laughter with the ground decorated with balloons, streamers and Christmas trees. The carnival was inaugurated by the principal, Ms. Rajani Singh at sharp 10:00 a.m. All the four houses, Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum and Ravi put up their Games & Food stalls with full enthusiasm. Camel ride and food added a special attraction for the visitors. A lot of preparations and hard labour went into making this carnival a successful event.

    There were about 20 stalls in the carnival. Everything was organised in such a manner that it created magical and memorable moment with near and dear ones to cherish. The zest and zeal exhibited by an enthusiastic crowd of visitors and participants made the carnival a memorable one. A large variety of food items were served at the various food stalls. The best part of these food stalls was that the prices were kept quite reasonable as compared to the market prices. There was a perpetual rush at the stalls. The tea and coffee stalls also turned out to be a huge favourite. The music and dance programmes added more colours to the day. The school ground wore a festive look and was pulsated with scintillating music and lively crowd. This carnival had something in store for each and every one.

    The parents lauded the efforts of the school for organizing such a big event. The students were excited and expressed their gratitude to the organizers. The carnival was an opportunity for both students and teachers to engage in several extra curricular activities and show their talents.

    At last In her address to the gathering, the principal Ms Rajani Singh expressed her thanks to the dedicated team of the teachers of all the four houses for their sincere efforts. Overall the carnival was a great and grand success.

  • TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2023-24
  • “A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his own image, But to develop students who can create their own image”

    Teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 5 in Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh with great enthusiasm and zeal. This event was a witness of the active participation of all the students from classes VII to XII. The program was held at the school ground and the ground wore a festive look.

    The event commenced with a special assembly which was conducted by Jhelum House. The Principal of the school Ms. Rajani Singh inaugurated the programme at 7:30 a.m by garlanding the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The principal gave a brief speech on Dr.Radhakrishnan and explained the significance of the Teachers’ Day. The students performed various cultural activities like Dance, Song and Recitation etc. The teachers were welcomed and honoured with a beautiful crown and gifts. The students also arranged some fun games for the teachers to entertain them.

    At the end, on this auspicious occasion, Ms. Rajani Singh, Principal, DPS Civil Lines Aligarh, addressed the gathering by congratulating all a very Happy Teachers’ Day and appreciated the efforts and the performances of the students. The programme ended with National Anthem. The event was a grand success.

  • INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2023-24
  • “FREEDOM IN MIND, FAITH IN WORDS, PRIDE IN OUR HEARTS LET’S SALUTE THE NATION ON INDEPENDENCE DAY”

    The independence Day has a special place in the heart of every Indian. It took hundreds of years for us to break shackles of slavery. Not only does it symbolizes the celebration of wonderful years of freedom but also extends an emphatic message of the progressive future of our country.

    With these feelings of respect and patriotism 77th Independence Day was celebrated in Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh on the lines of the theme of this year “Nation First Always First”.A special assembly was prepared by the students of Jhelum House. The school decorated with saffron, white and green balloons and tricolour flags welcomed the eyes of all at the function. The students came in proper school uniform. The ceremony started at 8:30 AM in the school’s Assembly ground with large gathering of staff and students.To commemorate the sovereigntyof our nation, Principal Madam Ms. Rajani Singh and Vice Principal Sir Mr. Sharad Agrawal hoisted the tricolour flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and express the joy of freedom. In her address Principal Madam enlightened everyone with the importance of being united and exhorted the students to follow the ideals our freedom fighters.

    Ipsa Singh, a student of class X B describe the greatness of Indian culture with pride in her Hindi speech. Sarah Hussain, a student of class IX D took us down to the memory lane when she spoke on the freedom fighters who played an important role in India’s independence. Pratham Shrivastava of class VIII and Rishabh of class IX C recited poems with great enthusiasm. The words of the poems were “Duniya walohamerokkardikhao” and “Jo deshkekaam aa na sake wo khoonnahi wo pani he” respectively. The words of both these poems filled the hearts of all presented there with great fervour and love towards nation. A beautiful dance performance was presented by the students which spread the feelings of enthusiasm and excitement in the air.

    An Inter House group singing competition was held on this occasion in which the students of all four houses viz. Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum and Ravi participated. The students sang patriotic songs in their melodious voices that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land. In this competition RAVI house secured first position. While JHELUM house and GANGA house remained at second and third positions respectively. At the end sweets were distributed to the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to express love and respect to our nation. It was a day to take pledge to make our country a better place for all citizens to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

  • KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION CEREMONY 2022-23
  • “Graduation is a time to celebrate new beginnings and say goodbye to everything that has given you a reason to smile.It is warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future”

    The session 2022-23 has been an unforgettable year for teaching learning experience. Nothing has affected the dedication and hard work of the students and the teachers of DPS Civil Lines Aligarh in shaping up the students through education and other co-curricular activities throughout the year.

    To celebrate the progression and development of students of Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh celebrated Graduation Day and applauded the young enthusiastic leaners for their commendable performance in the session 2022-2023. The programme began with the welcome address by our Principal, Ms. Rajani Singh. The welcome by DPsites can never be too simple so to uplift the feeling of being honoured and loved, our little ones presented a welcome song followed by the a welcome address by Inaya Vijay of nursery. Nothing good in this world can be started without the presence of good and positive vibes and therefore we all invite that positive energy so, to bring that auspicious vibe to the program the lamp was lit to pray to the almighty. Next our students were felicitated by honourable Principal ma'am. A program is always incomplete without a dance and to fulfill that the tiny tots left everybody spell bound as they danced on tunes of some vibrant music displaying breath taking colours with coordinated movements that also set the tone and mood of the atmosphere at an all time high. Even the prepties shared their experience and left everybody nostalgic.

    The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by the little DPsites . It was indeed a memorable experience for the little ones. Everyone blessed them with the shining future. The program ended with national anthem.

  • ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2022-23
  • “Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision”

    Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of children.

    The much awaited Annual Sports Day of DPS Civil Lines Aligarh was held on Tuesday, 14th February 2023, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The event commenced with the Principal Mrs. Rajani Singh welcoming the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the esteemed gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in a child’s life.

    The Annual Sports Day began with the release of balloons followed by the Oath-taking ceremony. The games were flagged off by the illustrious Chief Guest for the occasion Mr. Swapnil Jain, Pro –Vice Chairman, DPS Civil Lines Aligarh and Mrs. Priya Jain, Member of Managing Committee, DPS Civil Lines Aligarh. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the Principal Madam also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.

    The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Principal, Mrs. Rajani Singh. The ever energetic students put up a beautiful programme which set the mood of the day and the spirit did not die down till the end. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. The events consisted of Balancing the Ball,100 mtrs.Sprint, Pick Up the Ball, Zig-Zag Running, 4x100 m Relay race for boys and girls.

    Fun time with parents’ event added to the enjoyment.  The winners were awarded medals and certificates.  Chenab House won the First position in March past. The fun and frolic of the day ended with the event being declared closed by the Principal. The whole event was appreciably organized by the Sports department, with able support from the whole DPS Civil Lines Aligarh family which made it a grand success.

  • BLESSING CEREMONY CLASS - X & XII 2022-23
  • The premises of the Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh echoed with blessing and enthusiasm on the morning of 15 th February, 2023 when the DPS family came together to bid farewell to the outgoing 2021- 22 batch of Classes X & XII Students.

    The senior teachers showered their blessings on them wishing them good wishes for the future and gave their valuable tips for achieving success in life.

    Teachers and students of classes X & XII assembled to celebrate an occasion of an end and of a beginning, the end of a carefully supervised school life, and a beginning of a life in the “real world”.

    Mrs. Rajani Singh, Principal , addressed the students mentioning that this is the time to get exposure to the ‘real world’ and they have been trained so well by the school that they are now ready to face the challenges of the world. As they are Dipsites they will be seen as leaders and there will be very high expectations from them so their conduct should be exemplary. She motivated the students to be prepared for the challenges that life throws at them and apply the learning that they received in their school life. He advised the students to always follow the right path consciously, as they will have several people who will encourage them to take the wrong path. Students need to make the right decisions for their future after giving careful thought as it will affect the direction of their life. She also told them to follow the untrodden path and not be scared of making mistakes in their lives. She was sure each one of the students is working to the best of his capability and making full use of the time that is remaining before the board exams.

    In the end, she blessed the students and wished that each one of them comes out with flying colors and they make themselves, their parents, teachers, and the school proud.

    This was followed by a photo session of all classes X & XII students with the Principal and teachers. The Blessing Ceremony was probably a moment of mixed feelings for the students, sad at the prospect of leaving behind what was ‘second home’, with all their friends who have become like siblings after spending so many years together-yet so excited to explore the world that awaits them.

  • REPUBLIC DAY & VASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATIONS 2022-23
  • “A thoughtful mind, when it sees a nation’s flag, sees not the flag, but the nation itself”

    DPS Civil Lines celebrated India’s 74 th Republic Day in the school premises with great patriotic fervour on 26th January, 2023. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by the Vice Principal Mr. Sharad Agrawal accompanied by Senior Mistresses followed by the National Anthem.

    The special assembly conducted on 25th January 2023, included thought, News Headlines, Speeches on the History and importance of Republic Day and on Constitutional Rights & Duties, a patriotic dance by students, recitation of a Hindi poem dedicated to the Nation, Speeches by the Head Boy & Head Girl in English & Hindi, respectively on poignant aspects & nuances of the Indian Constitution, a dance by the students, a group song, a conversation, apprising the gathering about the Preamble & the Nation Symbols of India. There was a large gathering of students & teachers.

    The patriotic fervour warmed up the cold winter morning as the DPS civil lines fraternity enthusiastically gathered to unfurl the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung by all present as flowers descended from the unfurled flag.  The unfurling of the national flag was followed by the Vice Principal’s speech and a medley of patriotic songs. The song Teri Mitti , sung by the choir set a patriotic tone for the day.

    “Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is.”

    Vasant Panchami marks the preparation for the arrival of spring season. It is also celebrated in reverence to the Hindu deity Goddess Saraswati, epitome of knowledge, music and art. In an endeavour to make our little Dipsites familiar of our vibrant culture, Basant Panchmai was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The celebration commenced with the Saraswati Vandana invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati for seeking knowledge and a prosperous life. On this auspicious occasion , all the teachers were all decked up in yellow attires .They were looking very bright and beautiful.

    The school Principal, Mrs. Rajani Singh, in her message to the gathering, expressed pride in the rich cultural past of the country. She urged every student to work with honesty and dedication so that our nation soars to monumental heights. She reminded us that as the largest democracy in the world, we must always contribute in celebrating diversity that is the hallmark of this great nation. Addressing the students, the Principal said that as future stakeholders of this country, students must guard the freedom that they are born with, and use it for betterment of society. /p>

  • TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2022-23

    Gurur Sakshat Para Brahma, Tasmay Sri Guruve Namaha.

    A guru is the Brahma who creates knowledge, Guru is Vishnu who sustains the knowledge and the guru is Shiva who destroys the darkness of ignorance. I salute such a great guru.

    For paying regard to the great gurus a special assembly was conducted in Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh.The day is also celebrated to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of the country and a visionary educator.

    Head Girl, MalvikaVarshney welcomed the august gathering. The cultural programme unfolded with a dance performance invoking the blessings of Goddess SaraswathiFollowed by garlanding the portrait of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by venerable Principal Madam and admirable Vice Principal Sir.

    The students performed several scintillating cultural performances to exhibit their love, respect, acknowledgement, and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development.The cultural programmes incorporated orchestral performance, dance, group songs and skit. There were fun filled games for all. The teacher's day celebration at DPS Civil lines was the part of the Shikshak Parv, the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India celebrates every year during the month of September starting with the celebration of Teachers Day on 5th September. Our school, council membersplayed the role of teachers for the whole day. They got the new experience of teaching and leraning process.

  • FELICITATION CEREMONY 2022-23
  • On 1st September 2022, Delhi Public School Civil Lines, Aligarh organized a Felicitation ceremony for the Junior wing to enhance the morale of the little kids and giving them responsibility to inculcate leadership skills and working towards maintaining discipline.

    Gracious presence of the Principal of the school, Mrs. Rajani Singh was a true inspiration to the students. Students of class VI were the host of the Felicitation program. The Students were felicitated in different groups as from Classes I and II, Classes III and IV and Classes V and VI. The class monitors and discipline coordinators were conferred with the badges.

    All together around 52 students were felicitated. The ceremony was conducted with great zeal and zest. Principal ma'am congratulated and showered her blessings on the students.

    All the students were extremely delighted to be the part of this eventful occasion.

  • INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2022-23
  • Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul,
    Dream big, for every dream precedes the goal.

    An investiture ceremony was held at Delhi Public School Civil Lines, Aligarh on 17 th August, 2022 for the academic session 2022-23. The Investiture Ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. We here at DPS Civil Lines believe that the child centric approach will frame a responsible citizen.

    The ceremony was conducted with great zeal and zest. It commenced with, lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana, which signifies incessant mounting of the flames symbolizing the virtue and holiness of the temple of education.

    The elected Leaders’ were conferred with badges and sashes by Honourable Principal DPS Civil Lines, Ms Rajani Singh. The students’ council took the pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem. The pride and sense of dedication in their voices was palpable. Honourable Principal Madam congratulated the newly elected members of the student council and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. She reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve heights. In her address, she reiterated that student council posts were about responsibility and authority. She guided them to be worthy role models for their peers by being exemplary in their disposition and demeanor. The function had many other attractions and kept the students awestruck by the classical dance performances given by their mates. The event concluded with the National Anthem.

  • AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV CELEBRATION 2022-23
  • DPSCL Aligarh conducted a special assembly to commemorate the 75 th anniversary of Independence of India. As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, students of classes VII to XII presented many cultural events to remind of the glorious history of Indian culture and achievements. The responsibility to organize the assembly was given to class X. The event was scheduled in the first period in the school assembly area.

    Fatima Shahzad Siddiqui did the compering of the celebration. The event started with sharing of thought for the day by Afifah Iftikhar. A duet song ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’ was presented by a teacher and students which spread the feeling of patriotism in the gathering. Himanshi Prakash gave a speech in English and familiarized everyone with the facts associated with the celebration. A group song ‘Har Karam Apna Karenge’ was also prepared and presented by 37 students.

    On this occasion Mrs Rajani Singh, the Principal of the school, has also felicitated the students who had secured the position for ‘Face of the Months’ for the months of April and May 2022. Students were also honoured to win various positions in Extra Marks Talent Search Examination 2022 held on 7 th May. The prizes in this category were given to the students of VII and VIII.

    The most mesmerizing part of the celebration was the choreography on the theme ‘Shaan-e-Hindustan’. The act presented by the students gave the glimpse of Indian soldiers standing at the borders to protect us from external attacks.

    The Principal gave a motivating message at the end and asked everyone not to forget about the sacrifices of the heroes, told and untold, to get freedom for the nation. She also filled everyone with zeal and patriotism by quoting few lines of the poem composed by Rabindranath Tagore ‘Where the mind is free’. She further encouraged the whole school to contribute in the initiative taken by the government of India to hoist flag at every house under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

    The assembly was concluded with National Anthem. It was great to see everyone singing the national anthem with fervor.

    A 6 day Sports Camp at Delhi Public School Civil lines, Aligarh concluded on a high note amid fun and frolic. With great zeal, students of Classes III to VIII participated in a wide array of sports activities such as

  • INTER-HOUSE COMPETITIONS & COCK HOUSE TROPHY DECLARATION (2021-22)
  • “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence”

    The school was a witness to the myriads of Inter-House Competitions and activities held through out the year. The competitions were a fusion of talent, imagination, creativity and alertness like Yoga Quiz, Debate, Poem Recitation, Salad Decoration, Decoupage, Ad-Mad, Character Depiction, JAM- Just A Minute etc. The students of all the four houses were at their best. Spontaneity and confidence were the hallmark of the competition. The students left everyone awe-struck as they presented their talent so immaculately and effortlessly. All the Houses did their best but there can be only one winner, and the learning and experience gathered by each student fulfills the purpose of competing. Respected Principal Madam showered her good wishes and gave the trophy to the winning House in the Cock House Trophy Declaration Ceremony on Wednesday, 9th March 2022.

  • “Freedom in Mind, Faith in words, Pride in our Heart, Memories in our souls”

    On the cool and bracing morning of 26 January 2022, Delhi Public School Civil Lines Aligarh celebrated India’s 73rd Republic Day. As we are all aware, India became a Republic on 26 January 1950 when the world’s longest constitution came into force. To commemorate this historic day, our honourable Principal, Mrs. Rajani Singh hoisted our national flag followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.

    The Principal in her address aspired that students are our Nation’s Ambassadors who can spread the richness of our values. To make this possible, the students need to take extra efforts to understand their values and culture well. Her dream is that each one of them growing up and developing as integrated personalities and becoming true global citizens who will return to their own country and contribute immensely towards its further development, and also for the world peace at large.

    The Principal in her address apprised the gathering, briefly about the making of the Indian Constitution, its unique features and the fact that all students and the younger generation need to know about the Constitution in order to understand how they have to live life in future.Revered Principal Madam commanded the teachers and staff to take the National Voters' Day pledge to promote democratic electoral participation and to make elections inclusive, accessible and participative.
